Our Vegas to Vail route takes you from the desert to the high peaks of the rocky mountains. It’s your route and your rules on how you get from point A to point B.

So, you can hit all the places that we suggest, OR you may want to check out other places along the way and go on a different route while still ending up at the same finish line destination.

REGISTRATION DAY: Las vegas, NV

The rally kicks off in flashy Las Vegas, all flash, no brakes. Known for its world-famous Strip, Bellagio fountains, and electric nightlife. It’s a city that never sleeps, but also one that leads you right to the edge of the American wilderness, Vegas is more than a party, it’s a basecamp for adventure.

Beyond the casinos, the red rocks of Red Rock Canyon appeal to hikers and climbers, while nearby Hoover Dam showcases one of America’s most impressive engineering feats. Wildlife like desert bighorn sheep roam the nearby cliffs.

Grand Canyon, AZ

From Sedona, the road climbs toward the Grand Canyon, one of the most iconic sights on Earth. Words don’t do it justice whether you're standing at Mather Point or hiking into the Bright Angel Trail, this place demands stillness, awe, and a full camera roll.

The California condor, once near extinction, now glides along the canyon's thermals. The Grand Canyon offers a profound connection to nature and history that stays with you long after you leave.

Moab, UT

Welcome to Moab, where the rocks are redder, the skies wider, and the adventure more intense. You’ll feel like you’ve landed on Mars  in Arches National Park, home to over 2,000 natural sandstone arches each uniquely sculpted by millions of years of wind and water.

Moab is also a mountain biking and off-roading mecca, and hikers will love the remote majesty of Canyonlands National Park. This is also a prime spot to see mule deer, desert bighorn sheep, and the occasional golden eagle.

Denver, CO

The final stretch brings you into Denver, the Mile‑High City, where the skyline rises against a backdrop of snow‑capped peaks and 300 days of sunshine. Downtown districts such as LoDo (Lower Downtown) buzz with restored brick warehouses that now house indie coffee roasters, chef‑driven restaurants, and historic Union Stationpart transit hub, part chic food hall. A few blocks north, the RiNo Art District explodes with street‑art murals, avant‑garde galleries, and late‑night music venues that keep the creative pulse pounding long after sunset. Catch a show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, or toast your journey at one of the city’s 100+ craft breweries.

On your way in or out, detour to Rocky Mountain National Park, where bison, elk, and black bears still roam free.

Sedona, AZ

As you leave Vegas behind, the landscape shifts into the rusty reds and burnt oranges of Sedona, where Cathedral Rock and Bell Rock tower over winding hiking trails. The town pulses with energy both geological and spiritual with its famous vortex sites and vibrant arts scene.

You'll hear stories of Sedona in countless Westerns, and you'll feel it in the wind that rushes through Oak Creek Canyon. Watch the skies peregrine falcons often soar between the spires, and foxes dart along the desert floor at dusk.

Page, AZ

Next stop: Page, home to some of the Southwest’s most photogenic landmarks. Antelope Canyon, with its narrow sandstone passageways and beams of light, looks like it was carved by dreams. Nearby, the winding Horseshoe Bend of the Colorado River offers one of the most breathtaking overlooks in the region.Page offers unforgettable moments of awe and connection with the rugged beauty of the desert.

Bald eagles often nest near Lake Powell, which offers boating, paddleboarding, and a different kind of desert serenity.

Vail, CO

As you rise into the Colorado Rockies, Vail welcomes you with fresh pine air, alpine lakes, and luxurious mountain town charm. While known for skiing, summer in Vail is just as spectacular, with lush trails, wildflower fields, and Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, the highest botanical garden in North America, offers a peaceful stroll among native flora and mountain views.

Watch for elk and mountain goats as you explore the surrounding peaks. Vail blends nature with culture its villages are full of music, farmers markets, and mountain cuisine.Vail invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and take it all in.
